The fine husband-and-wife team over at Last Day of Work are at it again with another entry into the Virtual Villager franchise: The Secret City. They've kept the same great formula that makes this critter game fabulous, but added new puzzles, features, and improved the graphics quality with weather effects and more.

If you haven't played the Virtual Villagers games, you should probably start at the beginning--as the story continues from game to game--but Virtual Villagers - The Secret City is as good a place to start as any if you're anxious to play the latest-and-greatest. Give it a shot, but don't say we didn't warn you. This game is addictive!

Flower Stand Tycoon Game

TikGames just released their last tycoon/diner game hybrid, and it looks like a lot of fun. Manage flower stands throughout the city as you attempt to save your Uncle's business. Entreprenurial themes are very common in this kinds of games. I wonder how may players have been bitten by the bug and decide to actually go out and do their own thing?

Flower Stand Tycoon looks to be a solid game, although it seems pretty light on the "tycoon" features. It will probably do well with fans of diner games and time management games, though...

Dairy Dash Game

The publishers of Diner Dash are back with an all new game in "Dash" series. Head to the country and try becoming a farm hand in Dairy Dash, a clever mix of critter games and diner games. You'll have to watch after both the farm animals and the crops, so keep sharp! You'll move through four different farms locations as you work your way through this fast-paced game.

We've seen a lot of Dash games in the last year, and I can only imagine there will be more. You can't blame them, really; it's a succesful formula. And everyone loves success!

Big City Adventure: Sydney, Australia Game

I've always thought that the Big City Adventure series of games is brilliant. It takes all of the fun aspects of tourism--finding cool things, seeing the sights, learning about a city--without any of the tedious stuff. No waiting in airports, clearing customs, or sitting on a 20-hour transatlantic flight (Sydney, Australia is far, people!).

Instead, you can sit inside on your computer and feel like you're visiting a real city. You almost are, really. The facts you're learning are real, and the sights and sounds are definitely the real deal. Who cares that you're trying to find randomly placed hidden objects. That's part of the fun!

Doggie Dash Game

It was bound to happen. The "Diner Dash" franchise first spilled over the top of its success goblet with Wedding Dash a few months ago. The race is on to expand the franchise (conveniently located in "Dinertown"). The formula is the same, but the addictive nature and gorgeous graphics keep it going.

Doggie Dash has all of the ingredients for a successful game: adorable pets, quirky customers, and click-on-stuff gameplay that somehow never gets old. That isn't meant to be a rib against it; we still love the game, and you should too!

The Great Tree Game

Reflexive just launched their 17th (!) game, The Great Tree. They have a pretty amazing track record as a company, and this game looks like an interesting entry. It's a casual game, still, although it's fairly fast paced for the usual casual audience.

At its core it's a clicking game; collect items by clicking on them, and then deposit them by clicking somewhere else. As per usual, though, the graphics are done up in 3D Reflexive style, with some truly gorgeous backgrounds and art. Looks like something to check out!

Dream Day First Home Game

The "Dream Day" series of hidden objects games continues with the latest installment. Dream Day First Home is the logical next step--Robert and Jenny move into a new home together and are faced with the common problems of a freshly-married couple. Maybe the house was a little shabby due to their budget, and they need to fix a few things up. Maybe they can't agree on decorations, or don't have the money to put up lavish items for a few months. There's always garage sales!

It seems like Dream Day First Home won't be the last game to bear the Dream Day name. Pretty soon they'll be having kids--"Dream Day Firstborn", anyone? I can hardly wait for the obvious sequels, including Dream Day Marital Crisis and Dream Day Bitter Divorce. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those!
